Small But Spacious...

OK, this is what my 1964 FleetCraft is suppose to look like..... with a rounded back.

And this is what she looked like when I brought her home....

Is it polite for me to refer to one of the previous owners as a 'DipStick of a Fool' for cutting the whole back side off? It was his way of 'solving' the rot damage to the back of the trailer.

But I knew 'Trailer #3' had potential..... and at 9'8" long and 6'5" wide I still fill like I have plenty of room to move about in her. The actual inside is even smaller when you factor in the twin bed and kitchen counter... but lot's of windows, bright and airy feeling.

What I love about having several trailers is I can match my mood to my trailer when ever I want to go out and play or Glamp.

It looks like this little girl will be ready for her maiden voyage in May to Pendleton Oregon.

Moving In....

Moving In Day!!! Yippeeee :>) Well either I am moving into my wee little 9ft box of a trailer or a decorating bomb went off!

Good Grief! Who knew!!!! I had collected so much stuff..... lol!

Stuff, stuff & more stuff...but cute farm~girlie stuff! And though my (lined) red burlap curtains were a pain to make, I love them... burlap & lace... a perfect combination.

I even scored a red train case & round travel case at the local Salvation Army Thrift for only $1.99 each! Big time ScOrE!

Now to figure out where to put all this stuff..... lol!

The cute little wash board was a Thrift find, brought it home, painted it red & voila! Instant magnetic board!

I put 2 of my vintage aprons in my trailer... cuz you never know when you'll need to don an apron and get the old Dutch Oven going! lol!

The little red/white farm girl pillow was made from the "Maryjane Farm Girl" fabric line....in fact a lovely friend, Amanda aka Firemama, made it for me.

I found this large glass cutting board at another Thrift and tho I paid $5 for it,,, it is in new condition and perfect size for over my stove. One can never have enough counter space! lol!

I have my handy~dandy 'I Love Lucy' Bunco game in a 'Lucy' tote purse. Ready for my next Glamping outing.

Ok, so there is a "light at the end of the Tunnel"...

Trailer #3 is starting to look ready to snuggle in.... and I love my cozy pillows. The white one has 'tatted' flowers on the edge.

Almost ready for new Glamping excursions.

I am all ready to go.... just need some good warm dry weather..... I love my travel cases, perfect for my little trailer and great extra storage space too!

I might have to test camp out in her before my May trip to Pendleton, Oregon...

Just call me the "Happy Camperett"

Oh Dear! I really need to make a trip out to the 'ManCave' where Trailer #3 is sleeping.

My stash of 'stuff'' is over taking the dining room.... yikes! But with 1 1/2" of snow on the ground I just don't feel like trekking out to the barn....maybe tomorrow! lol!

More Goodies for #3

Today I finished up these 3 little deco pillows for Trailer #3 I made these 2 small pillows from some left over fabric from the pillow case below.

Now that I have assembled this pillow, I kind of wish I had outlined the 'eggs' first before sewing it into a pillow...oh well. The dark red fabric is wool from an old coat that was cut up, washed, steamed and now is a sweet soft pillow. It's a fun combination of wool and cross stitch and as always,,,, yoyos...

I needed a slumber pillow case for Trailer #3.... and here it is! I love this fun fabric that was gifted to me by my dear friend, Bev..... oh so perfect for sweet dreams while Glamping. The 'ric rack' trim is vintage from the 1950's. I happened across a box of sewing notions for under $2.00 while out Thrifting.... and it was loaded with wooden thread spools and ric rack... Score!
I also finished the last two curtain panels for the trailer.

Unfortunately, we got about 1 1/2" of snow today so I decided not to trek out to the ManCave to hang them.. maybe tomorrow unless we get more snow,,, oh joy!

Last but not least,,, my little mascot for trailer #3.... a 'Self Portrait' of me!?! lol!

I still have 3 curtains to finish, and 1 pillow case.... and then I can drag out all my 'stuff'' that I have been saving to decorate 'Trailer #3''.....

Then come the first signs of warm weather and it's on to the outside of Trailer #3...tires & paint.

Come on Spring... I am antsy to finish her up and go Glamping!

If only I could remember where I saw it,,, probably in one of my 'Victoria' magazines... I was perusing through some early 1990's issues recently and I often photograph things & ideas out of books and magazines... so maybe I will re-peruse through them again!

I came across this idea via one of my fellowette Sisters on the Fly, gal~pals, Tammy #120... What a great idea for a 'scrapbook' or 'photo book'. You need 2 license plates, 2 snap rings, card stock, scrapbook paper, glue & embellishments.... I used 2 garish earrings to glue on the outside of the cover. Why? Just because I can! lol!
Just trace around the frame, cut out your card stock & scrapbook paper, line up the frame holes with the pages, hole punch...deco the paper or leave plain.... then attach the whole thing with the snap rings.

By the way,,, I had a dickens of a time finding these.. but I did find them at a local Ace Hardware. I would have thought the key making section of the 'big box' hardware stores would have them,,, Nope! not ours,, nor did Walmart or Joanns Fabric,,, I will check out Michaels Crafts, next time I am in town.....

As you can see, I need 1 more snap ring to finish this frame....

This is the back side of the frame but you could make it a reversible frame if you choose. This frame will go in my Serro Scotty aka 'Gnome Home'...

Ok, so last year while at Elk Idaho, glamping with my Trailer loving Gal~pals.... I spotted this game at the little community General store... soooo cute but i resisted buying it.

I having been thinking about it all year and finally broke down and ordered it off of Amazon.com... well it arrived today! Yipppeeeeeeeeee!

I can hardly wait to open & play it with my hubby~poo....

It's going to be fun to bring on my camping trips don't you think?

My New Tow Vehicle!

Talk about Going Green! Could this be my new source of 'Horse Power' to tow my trailers?

Introducing, Duster, my Beautiful Quarter Horse Mare and the newest addition to our family.
OK, just kidding about the 'towing' part... but she is my new source of 'cruising' around with...lol!
Duster will come home to live with me in May... right now she is at "Horsey Finishing School for Young Ladies"... (translates too: Living with the trainer & updating her skills & manners!) lol!
Her trainer is an awesome friend and lady. Patty B... and she is a well known horse trainer as well as a frequent contributing writer for Horse & Rider magazine. Patty also assists in helping with staging the horses to be photographed for articles... not an easy task. Patty is one smart lady when it comes to horses. And I am so lucky to call her my friend, Glamping Buddy & Auntie to my girl, Duster!

My Gal~Pal, Juli was at the Denver Western Wear show this past week and she noticed a lot of the vendors incorporated Petticoats/tutus in their displays... So now it's Cowgirl hats, boots, pearls & petticoats! Wahooo...finally some one is getting it!

And don't get me started on Western Boots! if it were up to me, every Vintage Trailer Glamping Diva would have at least 3 pair.... preferably more! lol! Happy Trails!

This was a weekend up at Girl Camp over in Elk Idaho.... I'll be there again this Summer with my gal pals....and their trailers. We are all so lucky to have hubbies who don't mind our sneaking away for a few days of Glamping, Junktiquing and Giggling over a campfire.

T-shirt Pillows...

Sometime back, a dear friend asked me to re-purpose 5 of her Western Bling T-shirts into pillows. I had fun and was even the recipient of one of the newly re purposed Blingy T-shirts.
I recently found this wild looking T-shirt at a local Thrift & could not resist bringing it home to make another pillow for my Aljo. I found a piece of wood bead fringe left from another project and added it to the bottom of this pillow. Who doesn't like a Western pillow with Bling!
And now the search starts again... for more T-shirts to repurpose...

I put the final touches on my Milking Stool....3 coats of polyurethane, and some rhinestone Bling!

This little shelf is for my Aljo,,, just waiting to be adorned with sweet little trinkets & little perfume bottles.

I found this little Scotty Dog hoop at the Thrift for 99cents... it had cheesy shiny plaid ribbon trim around it so I removed the plaid ribbon, added some YoYos and a little Ladybug... This will hang out on my Scotty trailer....
Now to find some more projects to finish....

They say, every now and then, even a blind squirrel finds a nut! lol! Well I just found this product at Trader Joe's yesterday while shopping! SO am I the blind squirrel or the nut! lol!
Anyways,,,,, this is perfect for taking along on Glamping trips or Back Packing trips...

I actually made a cup of this tonight as a test run and you know what? it's not bad for instant coffee. Not quit as good as fresh brewed but I certainly don't mind and talk about convenient... It's a little packet of freeze dried coffee, sugar & powdered creamer, all in one. Just add hot water...

I will be keeping this in my trailer so on days when I don't feel like making a pot of coffee I can just use these....and I think I might even put a couple of these in my saddle pack when I go on my much waited for Lewis & Clark horse~pack trail ride in Sept.
So glad I found these.

SCORE! Do you know how hard these are to find???? & my Prince Charming of a hubby spotted it for me! Thank you Prince Charming....

I came across this sweet little Homer Laughlin plate for a dollar... it is going in trailer #3..

Then I came across this koolieo mid-century ash tray...I don't smoke but it will make a sweet ring holder in my 'Scotty w/a Potty' trailer.

I bought this twin size Chenille spread to use as a 'cutter'....I think I might use it to make curtains for the front window in my Scotty... yaya, I know,,, I just made a new set of curtains for the window but I am not totally crazy about them... and I love how old Chenille fabric makes cute vintage curtains.

I also scored 2 'Zane Grey' books, 1942... and also (a 2nd) Singer 301... this one is a tan colored machine, my other one is black. My new old 301 runs smooth & I can hardly wait to play with it.

I love having one last good shopping day in the old year and before the New Year starts....

I have to say, Prince Charming was such a good sport taking me Junktiquing. ILY!

Trailer Stuff and More!

I found these cute little child size pink cowgirl boots at the local thrift... I think they will make cute 'catch-alls' for what-nots & flowers.... at least until one of my grand daughters is big enough to wear them!

I love the white ceramic Hen & Rooster plaques... they will go into Trailer #3 along with the cross-stitched picture under them. The Mirror I haven't quit decided whether to put it in the Scotty, Trailer #3 or the Aljo...it is so very dainty. The little shelf will go into trailer #3,,,but I just might paint it white first....maybe....

My lovely friend, Bev, sent me these goodies.... a journal for when I am Glamping...vintage Cookie cutters, in the perfect country farm kitchen colors of red & green....and OMG! 'aged' pillow ticking fabric! How did she know I was in search of some? And what's a vintage trailer with out some sweet vintage doilies..... Thank you Bev.

My Glamping Gal-Pal, Juli sent me this sweet little trailer ornament & doilies,,, and the card is just precious! Juli knows I love doilies, doilies & more doilies! She is such a motivator, not to mention gifted writer.

As some of you know I received this Koolieo trailer night light from Kristina aka 'fieldsofthyme' she is a wonderfully talented crafty lady. Then my dear friend Pam, sent me the tin Trailer lunch pail. Pam & I have known each other since our late teens and use to live a few condos down from each other... raised babies together & promised when we grow old, we would sit on the porch, sip tea, do our needle work and gossip about grand babies! I can hardly wait! (the tea & gossip part, not the growing old part! lol!)
Old Man Winter better hurry and get over before I collect & stash way to much stuff for my trailers! If that happens, I might be forced into having to hunt for a 4th trailer! lol! I even have the theme in my head.... 1950's Audrey Hepburn! I can see it now, black, white & dripping in glamourous pearls! Just don't tell hubby dearest! lol!

I Love this mirror and at $4 it was a steal!
The little shelf will be perfect to display my cute little trailer deco goodies....and then I spotted this charming little "Welcome" in cross stitch.... I think I will place it over the door inside my trailer. It goes with out saying,,, I am looking forward to Spring and a new Glamping season!

Look what Santa's little postal elf brought me.....

Wahoooo! My wonderful friend, Pam, knows I have a love for vintage trailers and sent this to me.... It's a 'Trailer" lunch pail. Now to decide which trailer to put it in,,,, decisions, decisions....

The pail was filled with yummy teas,,,, another thing my wonderful friend knows I love.

She also tucked in a sweet book, the 'The Tea Lover's Devotional', by Emilie Barns. I can hardly wait to start reading it.

When Pam & I were young mothers we always said that when we become grey haired little old ladies, we'll sit on the porch, drinking tea and catching up on our needle work..... I can hardly wait because I have lot's of tea to drink and even more cross stitch projects to get caught up on.

I would love to get my hands on some of these yellow plaid aka Tartan Ware mid century camping goodies..... The yellow is not easy to find.... and can be pricey when you do find them.

I do have several pieces in Red, and have spotted a fair amount of the red plaid ware at vintage/antique shows.... but to find them in really good shape is a challenge.

Whether red or yellow, they bring a certain quaint charm to Glamping....

I always leave a Nite Lite in my trailer turned on, so if I come in and it's not then I know I have blown a breaker & the the electricity has been kicked off..... but now I will have a cute, 'mini me' trailer nite lite to leave on in my trailer....

I know how my little Peekaboo kitty feels,,, I too keep looking out the window in search of Summer.... I am a Summer person.... I don't like cold, I barely tolerate snow.... I am my happiest when I am running amok in flipflops and a straw hat, from sun up to sun down and even then I don't want to come into the house.... A little 9 year old girl lives inside of me,,,always wanting to be outside playing in the sun. it's who I am, and what I do best!

I don't want to grow up! Not yet anyways....... lol!

This sweet trailer (not mine) is a 1963 Fleet Craft.....

This sad little trailer is a 1963 Fleet Craft that some fool decided the easiest way to deal with wood rot was to cut the back off the trailer.... AACCKK! and yet I still bought it, drug it home and said, "Honey, how much do you love me???"....

Here I am down in McCall, Idaho at a 'Sisters on the Fly' Glamping trip... this cute lil 'Oberlin' belongs to my gal~pal, Juli.... Poor thing, she only has 3 vintage trailers & an Airstream.....it's a good thing she is one of my dearest friends or I would be green with envy...

How cute are these?....these are hand crafted cards..... Oh how I wish I were that talented.

I spotted these trailers on a blog while I was trolling through cyber-blogland! OMG! these all belong to one gal who has set up her own lil vintage trailer park.... I wonder if I can talk my hubby dear into letting me set up a 'Trailer Park'...lol!

In the spirit of Christmas,,,, I saw this cute 'Gingerbread Trailer'... I don't think I could eat it,,, it's just way to cute!

This Serro Scotty trailer brochure was recently up for auction on ebay,,, it sold for $28.00.... I was sooo very tempted to bid on it, but for $28.00 I can buy a lot of fun trailer deco stuff...... but that doesn't mean I am not on the watch for one of these.....

Having to put my Serro Scotty away for the Winter has been so disheartening... I so miss spending time in her. But Spring will be here soon and she will get to come out and play again.

The good news is, Trailer #3 aka 'Farmgirl on the Loose' is coming along nicely..... I have a ton of stuff I have been collecting for her... and I need to sew the curtains still, but I am having a tough time deciding on what type of fabric to use. I still need to sew the covers for the bench cushions as well as make the bed skirt...but since we still have 3 months of snow, I'll have plenty of time for sewing!
The good thing is, while in my sewing room I can dream about all the upcoming Glamping trips that I am planning on.

Today I had lunch with two of my 'Glamping co-horts in crime'... Rene & Heather. We have the best of time, best of laughs & the best of dreams.

It's not how vintage your trailer is, or the brand, or how you decorate it.... it's about the journey and all the memories and friends we make along the way... Happy Trails & Wagons HO!

I have often been asked, how do I come up with names for my trailers and how should they name theirs..... my answer, let the trailer tell you.....and I do!
Well for my 1959 Aljo.....I had been toying with many deco themes when I came across this lovely tattered scarf in an Antique store in downtown Spokane.....and I immediately knew I had to have it so I bought it and brought it home. Later that evening I was perusing through an older issue of a "Victoria" magazine.... and that's when the voice in my head said.... "Gracie's Victorian Rose" and from that moment on my Aljo became Gracie's Victorian Rose.... I love the roses and the dark woodsie colors.
My dear friend, Juli knowing that my Aljo would be a mix of Victoriana and Roses with a hint of cowgirl, came across a framed painting of a rose on what once was a piece of dress fabric cut from a wedding dress. So even though it will be a bit longer before my sweet Gracie's Victorian Rose will be road worthy, she has her hope chest full of frillies and bling.

Sewing Basket Re~do

I found this sad looking little sewing Basket at the local Thrift for $1.00
It looked so sad.....that I could not resist 'adopting' it....
I ripped out the old icky fabric inside and re-did it with some scrap fabric that I had left over from other projects. I never throw away fabric bits-n-pieces...you never know when they will come in handy. I gathered up some old homeless Bling & glued them onto the top of the basket.

And this is what it looks like now.... a happy little sewing basket that I can use as a sewing basket or a Jewelery box or trinket keeper..... It will go in the Aljo someday. But for now this sweet basket is sitting in my sewing room storing my 3 pairs of reading glasses! lol!.

Trailer #3's Door Curtain...

Well, I finally got around to stitching up the curtain for Trailer #3...for the entry door.

I had a yard of this cool Moda vintage looking towel fabric,,, but the door window was 12" x 42" so I needed to lengthen the fabric...once again I snooped through my stash of fabric and came across just enough 'Ticking' fabric to extend the length of the Moda fabric.,,, then I found some scrap jumbo RicRac trim! Wahooo & Voila! New door window curtain. I even had enough Ticking fabric to make a tie sash for the curtain.

Now to paint the curtain rod red and then get everything installed...

Trailer #3 aka 'Farm Girl on the Loose' is coming along and I can hardly wait to go Glamping in her next Summer. Happy Trails!

I won it on an on-line auction site.... it will go perfect with my red petticoat,,,, and my red cowgirl hat at next summer's Farm Chick camp out. Now to find a cool pair of red cowgirl boots to go with them. I have all Winter to 'shop' for the perfect pair of red boots... Happy Trails to you.... p.s. Oh Good grief.... I could not resist...and bought these two 'Train Cases' aka women's cosmetic over night cases....
I haven't decided what to do with them... keep them, decoupage' them or sell them... I love the fabric plaid one, it would look cute in my Serro Scotty trailer... I have several like the white one which is great to re-purpose. Oh well, in the mean time I'll store more cute trailer deco stuff in them. Happy Trails....

We all need a little plastic surgery at some point...and after all, she is 52 years old!

I luv these seats & will have them re-done.... the table is soooo cool! it has that 'atomic starburst' design that was so popular in the late '50's & early '60's.

OK, some of you have asked how things are coming along on the Aljo...welllllll!? she is in hibernation for now...as my poor hubby is trying to get #3 finished up....
In fact hubby has made it pretty clear that I am to Not bring home any more 'projects' for him until #3 is done... we'll see.... heeheehee! Besides, after 39 years of marriage, he is to old & tired to train in a new wife! lolololol!

Well thanks to a break in the gloomy raining weather, 15 of my SOTF other gal-pals & myself got to have one last Glamping Fest before we tuck our trailers away for the Winter....
We had our 2nd Annual 'SOTF~ Halloweenie HO-Down' at Riverside State Park.
Even though we couldn't do much decorating due to the rain we still had a wonderful weekend. Oh What fun! Glamping, Junktiquing & Pot Lucking...
As I always do, I get up early and walk around by the river. I enjoy the quiet of the morning, as well as watching nature slowly waking up. I saw 2 Eagles and what seemed to be like a gazillion geese. It was wonderful.
Here is my wee lil trailer, getting ready for the day,,, a bit soggy after a night of rain.

I had taken a lot of photos but for some reason my camera was acting wonky so most of my photos did not come out! Bummer.

This is Fran's sweet lil trailer....she is still snuggled in.

This is Karen's lil 14ft. Shasta. shhh! she is still sleeping!

Connie brought her 'Bandit Queen' complete with (faux) bullet holes! lol!

Nancy brought her trailer #2 'Pony Express' this time...leaving 'Iron Pony' at home with her hubby, Dave.

Sweet sleeping trailers..but soon there will be all kinds of activity...from hiking, to shopping to getting ready for the evening's festivities.... Costumes, games, ornament gift exchange, food & fire pits.... I am already dreaming of next Spring when we can gather together again. But...until then, Happy Trails to you until we meet again.

There were 6 of us 'sisters'... 'Sisters on the Fly' gal pals.....We had a perfect weekend, perfect weather, perfect friends & perfect yard sales!

What a great idea! Linda aka 'Martha Crocker' has this hanging on her trailer.

Denise is so clever.... she attached doillies to the top of some vintage tins...she used glass drawer pulls on the top and she used even smaller glass pulls on the underside for feet!I so need to do this! Check out the apron made from retro kitchen towels!

Stitched Pillow.

I can't believe someone did all this lovely hand stitching and then donated to a local Thrift store to which I bought it for 99cents, hand washed it, pressed it and then turned it into a deco pillow for my lil Scotty trailer. this is done in cross stitch on 14ct Aida....and is 12 x 10 in size. The stitcher who did this lovely piece of stitchery probably has over 50 hours of hand stitching....

Well we installed the pulls & knobs in #3 to see how they will look! Now to pull everything off, and varnish the wood and paint the hinges...

Got my paint for the stove, hinges & refridge..... now I just need a non windy day to start painting!

Spray Paint is my friend! I love that you can take a cheesy brassy framed mirror, or what ever, dust it off and give it a coat or two of color and have instant cute for your trailer....
This tray & mirror will go in trailer #3 .....

and these sweet, formerly cheesy plastic photo frames will go in the Scotty.....

I Got a Horse! Well Sort of!

Ok, so last year I attended the Appaloosa Museum "Appy Ride & Camping trip" to benefit the Appaloosa Museum in Moscow, Idaho.
I don't own a horse (yet) so I made a cute Stick Horse and placed it out front of my little Scotty trailer last year....Well this year I was all set to attend the event again,,,but due to some health issues I had to cancel....bummer...because this year I had an upgraded 'horse'.

Well since I have a whole year to get ready for the next ride.... I just might repaint this pony and then jazz up the saddle along with some Bling! After all, it's not like I don't have any projects or anything to do...lol!

Attention Wal mart Shoppers!

The next time you take a jab at the people who shop Wal Mart stores, you might want to stop and think.... who are these people?
All I know is today 3 ginormous custom motor homes pulled in, you know the kind, private coaches that cost between $300-500 thousand dollars each.... The 3 motor homes I saw pull into the parking lot came from the Northern Quest Casino and I would venture they belong to the celebrities that just performed there. I am in awe, these things are totally self contained and I have seen models with sleeping quarters, luxurious bathrooms, offices, kitchen galleys and sitting room. These have 5 air conditioners! The 3rd motor home was black but with a very similar design, I just couldn't get around to get a photo.
So who shops at your Wal Mart?

I think 'Reba McIntyer' was recently performing at the Casino... could the design which sort of looks like an "R" mean it was her & her group? Hmmmm, I wonder....

Hmmm guess I'll never know.

Yep, silly man...enjoying his handy work!

OK, so I like the cleanness of my oven/stove,,I don't want to paint it but it probably wouldn't hurt to give it a fresh coat of white paint..... I have heard that 'Transmission paint' has a high heat tolerance.

The sink is in good shape and a good scrubbin' on the faucet will bring back the shine. But I haven't decided whether to install a Pump Faucet,but if I do then I will have to put in a fresh water holding tank. I have never used my tanks in my other trailers so I will have to think about it.

Hubby putting things away.... OMG! I really do have a counter top! Speaking of which....

I love this front kitchen and all the windows wrapped around the front.

Wowzers....I can hardly wait to decorate! Still need to stain the wood, install the knobs and...now We are thinking we need to replace the counter top.....as this one kinda curls up at the corners...plus it is an ugly faded brown color. 'Home Desperate' Depot here we come!

Hubby has framed out the twin size bed. I am going to buy another 4" memory/high density foam twin size foam pad......I have one in my Scotty and it is wonderful.

Hubby re-wired the exterior lights and now they work perfect!

Getting #3 done....she is progressing and before I know it she & her older sister, 'Scotty with a potty' will be having slumber parties.

All the elcetrical is in & #3 and it works like a charm!

We used non-formaldyhyde insulation.... and Hubby made a easy access hatch to the wires. Which will be hidden under the bed.

This is one of the drawer pulls.... that will be attached.

And the cabinet knobs... I just love them... I got the pulls & knobs at Hobby Lobby at 1/2 price....

Hubby didn't like the sharp corner on the bench so he made it angled... so no more scratches or snags on our legs. Soon I will get to stain/seal the walls and then off to sewing curtains, pillows, cushions and what nots..... #3 is slowly but surely getting done! :>)

I have been enjoying my little "Scotty with a Potty" (SWAP) this summer ...and now her little sister, the 'Farmgirl on the Loose" (FOTL)has been camping out with her.... which by the way makes it much easier for hubby dearest to work on her.
I wonder what "the girls" talk about when I am not around... I wonder if SWAP has told FOTL all about the wonderful adventures of camping...oh the sights she will see, the places she will go...
Sometimes, when time permits, I steal away for a wee bit, with my kitties and a magazine, and go hide out in my SWAP. I look forward to the day when I can do likewise with FOTL.
I must tell you, I have had some of the best naps in my Scotty. Just don't tell my hubby,,,he thinks I am hard at work doing my domestic duties...lol!

Framing out the bed (twin) and storage for the 'port-a-potty'.... we're getting there.

I LOVE this little 'nook' that Gary made for me.. Perfect place to store/display wine bottles or?

Oh, did I mention it was Ed's (Juli's husband) 50th Birthday? Yep, complete with an 'Airstream' trailer cake... normally hubbies are not allowed at Girl Camp...but since it was Ed's B-day, and he did smoke a turkey for us,,we made an exception.... lol!

Speaking of cakes,,,, Juli is attempting to light the candles on Ed's cake as niece Julianna stands by with the fire extinguisher! lol! Notice Ed trying to keep his hat brim out of range of the flames!

I LUV this table topper...check it out !it is a custom made saddle pad made by Nancy DeWeir~ Geaney. It was featured in a MaryJanes Farm magazine last year and then bequeathed to Shelly who is using it as a table topper(for now), eventually she will use it for her horse's saddle, but for now....it is Trailer table adornment.... The pad was made from a re-purposed blanket and is supper soft....lucky horse. I just LUV the ingenuity of my gal~pals.... check out what Shelly did to maximize space...yep, she used a couple of those hanging sweater & shoe organizers to tuck & store her stuff. How clever is that? Thanx Shelly for the idea & yes, I plan to organize my trailer closet better!

Is this a Cool trailer or what? it is a Ken Craft,, the sides are aluminum and the front/top/back is fiberglass....this is the trailer with the side kitchen and is owned by Patty (in door way)... Too funny, DeeAnn's outfit matches Patty's trailer... and Maureen is putting the exercise balls to good use...by using them as a cushy seat...lol!

I found this little 'Tea Cart' at a junktique shop and in 'grace fashion' I spray painted it to match my trailer & Voila! instant cute cart to display my hand-me down tea set (Thanx Heather)....

Well it's time for me to go take my shower...so I am off to ride my bike down to Stephanie's to use the shower at her little cabin...and yes I am in my jammies...but what the heck,,, as far as I know there are no laws in Elk about it being illegal to ride your bike to the shower in your jammies!
p.s. next time I will bring my other bike, the one with gears...riding over to Steph's down hill was a breeze...it was the ride (uphill on an old gearless cruiser) back to my trailer that caused me to break a sweat...darn! now I need another shower! lol!

Well it's that time again,,,, for 'Camp Tales around the Camp Fire...

Once again we gathered around & took over the 'Bowl-&-Pitcher' campgrounds at Riverside State Park in Spokane, Washington..... for our annual Farm Chicks weekend.

Good morning Spokane River, what a beautiful morning.... but in a few hours, 26 ladies will be heading out to hit yard sales, Junktiquing & the Farm Chicks show at the Spokane Fairgrounds.

These wee lil trailers, most are vintage, some are good old girls glammed up and some sweet new ones also dolled up.

These boots were made for Shoppin' and that's just what they'll do, one of these days these boots will shop all over town with you!

After having two of my gal~pals, come camp out with me on my property several weekends ago,,, I just did not have the heart to put my little Scotty back in the barn,,, so I left her out, and have enjoyed going out to sit in her daily....usually with my 2 kitties...

I keep the area around the "Gnome Home" (Scotty) cute like a little campsite, complete with Flamingos... The hubby and I can go sit out by her when we want to enjoy the evening... The fire pit, is always ready and so is the Citronella candle! lol! It's that time of season when we get hit hard and heavy with 'skeeters! I think in the next week or two I will pull out trailer #3,

aka~ Farmgirl on the Loose, set her along side the 'Gnome Home' (Scotty) and then it will look like the beginnings of a sweet vintage trailer park,,,after all, like they say.... "Build it & they will come (& park & camp) lol!

Scotty Door...

I just could not stand the 'plainness' of my Scotty Door so out came the painters tape, & spray paint and here is the end result....
Clean blue door, framed chalk board and pillowcase door window curtain.....
AAHHH! Much better!
I had a 1/2 can of chalk board paint (left from another project), a can (actually I keep several of this blue on hand for trailer projects) of Ocean Spray Blue paint and a window of opportunity to get some painting done!
Gary miter cut the wood to frame the 'chalk board'... I can't cut an angle to save my life! lol!
Then I re-purposed an old pillowcase given to me by Juli, and am using it for the door window curtain..(Thanx Juli). I have a piece of pink ribbon that I will use to tie the curtain open when I want light in. I love when a moment of creativity & good weather hits! lol!

What do you do with cute Birthday Cards? Well you frame them ofcource!
A dear friend of mine spotted this cute card and sent it to me for my B-day....so I naturally had to put it to good use....I bought a cheap plastic (light weight) picture frame,,,spray painted it pink, added a sheet of scrap booking paper (stripes) and Voila! instant cuteness....

First I sat it on the table, by my new trailer curtains...p.s. notice I spray painted the curtain rods pink?...

But the glare made it hard to view...so....I decided that it would look cuter over my chenille curtains above the sofa/bed...and yes, I painted those curtain rods a too!

The vertical stripes in the frame match the vertical stripes in the chenille fabric.

(I need to find a 'globe' replacement...this one is just too round & blah!)

I luv spray paint, bits of fabric cheap photo frames & re-purposed cards...

This is a little totable flashlight that my best friend sent to me....

It is small, has a single light, triple light & flashing light ability....Irmgard knows I love to camp & came across & sent it to me...I have seen big hand cranked flash lights but never the small ones so this is perfect. Just wind/crank the flash light to get the light...Turn it off & it holds a charge...How kool it This!

so let the "Slumber Party " begin!

I called Mig and before we knew it,,, there where 3 trailers on my property and Gary was chopping fire wood for our "fire pit".

The weather forecast was for rain,,,but Mother Nature gave us a break & we had a sunny weekend with only a few sprinkles,,, Thanks Mother Nature!

We shopped till we dropped...my poor jeep was so full of "treasures" that there was barely room for our feet! Now that's shopping! lol!

We capped off the evening with pizzas and beer. Afterwards we settled in to watch "The Long Trailer" starring Lucille Ball and Desi Arnez....followed by more incredible edibles!

As always, Sunday was 'pack-up & head home'...but along with our trailers and all our must have junk finds, we take home wonderful girlfriend memories....

Lucky me, I had the shortest drive,,, just back into the garage! lol!

Camping~ German Style

I spent 2 weeks in Germany visiting my family & childhood best friend. Wowzers! seems like everywhere I went I saw trailers and motorhomes on the road....mind you the roads in the small villages are quit narrow, so to see these trailers & motorhomes navigate was interesting to say the least.

Trailers were everywhere.....Germany sure has changed since I was a kid.

And with the price of fuel,,, 1.49Euro per liter which equates to roughly $6.00 a gallon. Yikes!
Yet it doesn't seem to deter these die hard vacationers!

Talk about sleek...I met the owners of this mini and they let me see the inside...every inch was well planned & utilized. The only thing it didn't have was air conditioning....

I even spotted an R.V. Sales lot while driving on the Autobahn.....

First day of nice warm weather and our Euro counterparts are out en-mass camping & taking advantage of the wonderful Spring weather.

Camping in Germany is not a cheap hobby, but there seems to be a lot of German families who, like Americans,,,are falling in love with Camping....

Scotty's New Re-Do!!!!!

I was so board with my old curtains in my Scotty, that I decided I needed a 're-do'... so I took out my touristy~tropical themed curtains and dug through my stash of fabric & this is what I came up with.....

I had bought the 'Galaxy Diner' fabric about 4 years ago, when I was living in SO. CAL., I had bought 2 yards,,,,just in case....a bad habit of mine...I buy fabric because I like it and think I might be able to put it to use someday...well that someday was today.....

The lining/backing is actually a sheet that I had bought at a local Thrift.

I crochet rag rugs from old sheets, so when I come across a sheet I buy it knowing it will make a great rug, backing for a quilt or some other project, in this case, as curtain backing. I paid $1.99 for the sheet, and still have oodles of fabric left....not a bad deal!

Now all I need to do is make 22 YoYos in a soft yellow fabric to attach on top of the curtain tabs.

You would think with all my fabric stash,,,I would have some yellow fabric...nope! not a scrap,,, I can't believe I am going to have to go buy a yard of yellow fabric! lol!

I can hardly wait for May, when my lil Scotty w/a potty comes out of the ManCave and goes on her 1st camping trip of the season.... Come on May!

Thank goodness, it is almost that time...to pull our vintage trailers out of storage, dust them off, fluff them up, add a few new deco-trinkets and hit the road.... Happy Trails! My first Glamping trip of the year will be to Prosser Washington for the 'Prosser Farm Girl' gather-up....and then just 3 weeks later, back to the Spokane River to camp with 24 other 'Sisters on the Fly' gal pals and shop till we drop at the 'Farm Chicks' show at the Spokane Fairgrounds. TaDa! kitschy Ukulele for my Scotty trailer....and if you pay real close attention you'll notice that the fabric I used on the Ukelele is the same fabric as my Bankette curtains!

Never throw away scraps of fabric!!!

Now to decoupage a guitar that I bought at the Thrift....

As usual, I forgot to take a before photo of my latest Thrift Store find. Duh!

This is my old~new & improved step ladder chair.....

It is one of those mid 1970's Kitchen step ladder seats. It was dirty and had nasty vinyl upholstery....but for $4.95 I could not pass it up!

Then I bee-lined it over to Hobby Lobby and found this cool faux tooled faux leather, just needed about $5.00 worth.....

After giving the seat/ladder a good scrubbing I went to work. I did need handsome hubby's help to take the seat & back apart. My Hero!

After cutting, gluing & re-attaching I now have a toteable step ladder that does double duty as an extra chair.

Now to just get my old Aljo put back together,,,oh wait, I also need to finish up trailer #3.
Thank goodness the Scotty is road ready! lol!

ok, so I have to fess up! I spotted this on a blog of a fellow-ette Sister on the Fly.....
And I just could not resist "borrowing" it! (thanx Cyndy)
This is the time of year that a lot of us Gal Pal Glampourettes start getting the urge to abandon our families, pets & household chores to take off for the high road and camp in our cute tricked out lil vintage trailers! And can ya blame us? after nearly 3 months of snow and rain,,we are ready to run for the boarder! lol!
My Social Camping Calendar is starting to get full.....I just hope the price of gas doesn't go up to high, or else I may have to start selling off some of my vintage mixers to fund my trips! lol!

My dear friend Bev,,,,,knows about my Trailer addiction and so for Christmas she sent me these wonderful little goodies to use in my trailer (aka #3)
I am going with a retro farm girl theme in yellows, reds & greens.....plus Bev sent me this sweet fabric to use for my kitchen curtains.....OMG! I can hardly wait to get stitching...
The retro fabric is a Michael Miller fabric and the fruit print towel is my Moda Home fabric line and notice the sweet ric rac & crochet edge.
My lil kitchen in my trailer is going to be bright & fun.
Bev also sent me the cool vintage wood handled kitchen tools & cookie cutters!
I am such a lucky Trailer Diva! lol!

A TeePee

While stopping off at our little Market in town, I spotted this kool trailer at the Christmas Tree lot. It's called a "TeePee"....I am guessing mid to late 1960's...

Sure wish I could have gotten a peek inside.....

I am guessing the springs have been flipped so the trailer rides higher......

It is so cool looking, I love the scrolly iron work at each side of the front window.

I got to take a peek inside the other day,,,oh my! it is just dreadful how beat up it was inside....some one had ripped out the interior and slapped together 2 sets of makeshift bunk beds,,, It has or should I say had a front kitchen,,,stacked & cluttered & beat to crap! But the original "Burnt Orange" colored mid 60's stove/oven was still in there...the interior walls were ruined from years of moisture damage and the floor was scary! It had been used for a typical 'hunters trailer' over the years (reason for flipped springs) & then bought by the current owner to haul up into the forests of Montana to live in while cutting down Christmas trees and then as a temporary living quarters for the tree lot sales man.....I got the phone number of the trailer owner....maybe I will give him a call in the Spring when he might be interested in selling? Who knows.

And like I say...."Show No Fear!".....besides, maybe hubby will have trailer #3 done and I can talk him into another 'project'! lol!

I found these knobs & pulls at Hobby Lobby...and they were on sale at 50% off! Squeal!!!!
These will go in trailer#3 and will look so way cute.
My colors are Primarily Yellow, Red & Green.
The black object behind the knobs is a cast iron bottle opener...
I think I will spray paint it red!
After all, "spray paint is your friend"...lol!

Hubby & I were out at a vintage car junk yard recently and I spotted this old trailer.
From the looks of it, someone is or was living in it.( I was able to peek through an open window)
I think it might be a mid 1960's Terry travel trailer, but not sure.
Sure would love to get my hands on it, clean it up & bring it back to life.
It's a wonder it has not caught fire,,,check out all the cords plugged into each other....yikes!

Is this cute or what!!!!

This past Thursday evening about a dozen of us local Sisters on the Fly 'sisters' gathered for dinner at a Greek & very garlicky restaurant...yep, I reeked of garlic for almost 2 days...lol!

Any howzers, Linda surprised me with this sweet ornament that I had been on a quest for.... Thank You So Very Much Linda....I Love It!

It is so cute, it has a little Holiday wreath on the back bumper and it even has a little detailed hitch up front. (it also can fit over a mini tree lite to lite up)

It will go on this years Christmas Tree, then afterwards it will go to it's new home in...oh dear, which trailer? lol!...ok it will go in which ever trailer I happen to be camping in....

Speaking of trailers, #3 "Farm Girl on the Loose" is coming along...Hubby had to buy new plug receptacles, the older ones didn't look good(safe), and better safe than sorry...Hubby also made new wood plate covers,,,way cool!

Floor & moulding trim still need to be done...

I need to go buy the cabinet & drawer pulls,,,at Hobby Lobby,,,they have the glass knobs I want at a decent price.

Ok, off to go play in the snow, yep, we got our 1st snow today...Happy Nov.13, 2010.

Working on Trailer #3

Well, it's in the mid 50's, cold, and the sun is shining so that makes it a perfect day to work on Trailer #3...aka "Farm Girl on the Loose"....

Since there is no room in the ManCave we have to keep #3 outside, covered...not to mention drag everything outside to work...

My husband is my Prince Charming! He could be inside the house watching football, but he knows how much I want to start decorating this trailer so here he is working on #3, even though it's cold outside.

Did I mention he is my Prince Charming?

What Mess?

The wood above the kitchen windows is up...

The back & side walls are done.....

All the molding will go on last after the main wood is put up.

Hubby has already replaced the old wire screens with new nylon screen.

Front cabinets done, the cabinet door fronts are ready to go,,,but first I need to locate the knobs I want & yep, found them at Hobby Lobby...I need 8 knobs.....but I will have to wait till next week to get out to the Hobby Lobby over in Spokane Valley.

The template is ready to take to the cutting table to trace out the new front for the wall to floor cabinet.

And here is the new front on the wall to floor cabinet.

We have re-insulated the ice box with Non-Formaldehyde insulation and put it back in.....

But now we are done for the day, it's getting really cold so the tools are put away until next weekend.

Halloween HO-Down, Sisters on the Fly, Oct. 2010

What can I say...except, what a fun weekend we had. Just a small impromptu get together of Gal Pals who are members of 'Sisters on the Fly'....we spent the past 3 days on the Spokane River camping, drinking coffee by the fire pit, watching the Heron's catch fish in the river, deer walking around our campsites...then there was the fantastic weather, great pot luck, oh and let's not forget the shopping, antiquing, yard saleing and general mischief that we got into.

We had some brand new sisters and some old sisters and it felt like we had been friends for ever.

And as always, it is bitter sweet to say good-by and go back to our worlds....knowing that most likely we won't get another camping trip in this year.

But watch out 2011,,,here come the "Sisters".....

Portable Generators

Well, I'd love to show you some updated photos of my little "Farm Girl on the Loose", trailer #3 but she is in the middle of a Make-over...but while waiting I thought I would share my thoughts with you on Portable Generators...

This is what we have for use in case of an emergency, just strong enough to run a radio, lights and operate small appliances like a coffee maker or toaster over, laptop etc....

I have even taking it with me on "Dry Camping" trips where I had no access to electricity to run my lights & Laptop computer in my trailer.

This little gem is a good10 years old but runs like a champ. Runs on gasoline & oil and can run several days with modest use on (it's) a small tank of gas.

Not to large, tho it is a bit heavy, about 60lbs. I keep it stashed in the jeep when not in use and when in use I have it chained to the trailer so it can't grow feet & walk away.... It's not terribly noisy and like I said comes in handy when you don't have power....

We actually got it when we lived back in California, just in case we lost power due to an earth quake....at least we would be able to make a pot of coffee & heat up some chili while listening to the news...

There are different sizes, models, wattage etc. generators out there,,,,and all levels of prices...so it just depends on what your needs are.

And, if you have 3 trailers like me, it's less expensive to tote one of these then to have to have inverters/marine batteries& wiring done on all 3 trailers....plus you can use the portable generator for emergency situations....

Ok, now to get back out and work on trailer #3.....

Trailer Number "3".....

Welcome home little trailer,,,,,, Trailer #3

I have no idea what year or make she is...but I just had to adopt her.

(9/24...update...We think it is a 1964 FleetCraft, based on an other exact trailer w/o the back chopped off)

OMG! don't you just love the wrap around front windows? I know I do! It's like having a

wrap-around porch.....

She has seen better days and quite frankly has not been very loved, but that will all change...

I think the whole back end has been replaced, as the aluminum is not the same pattern as the front & sides, plus the make-shift metal band across the top was put on, rather crudely I might add, to cover the joining of the roof & back side.

But as I always say...Show No Fear!

The front and sides look fairly decent considering this old gal is about 40 + years old.

The Ice Box looks to be 1960's, and is Aqua color inside and very clean.

And it actually has a decent amount of storage space considering it's small size.

I love the aqua in the ice box, and no musty moldy smells anywhere. Whew!

It has cupboards above the sink as well as under....

The original Bankette/Dinette was here and most likely there was a small kids bunk up above, but who ever had this trailer removed the Bankette & put in a Full size bed....I threw out the bed foundation & mattress....I will re-frame this area and convert it into a twin bed/sofa and then on the wall just adjacent I will install a hinged table top that can be in a closed position when not in use and when I want to dine in my trailer I can flip it down. I have a cute little portable chair that will fit perfect in this spot.

I will buy a Futon mattress to fit on the Sofa/Bed like I did in my Scotty trailer.

More cupboard space & windows...Oh, & I have the perfect cute little Chandelier to fit in the kitchen area! SCORE!

Again, more storage, and the oven/stove is clean as a whistle. All I need to do is buy 3 stove rings to go on top of the stove burners.

All in All, I am really delighted....The underside has been totally rebuilt and in great shape....no saggies or squishies...

There is a small crack in the narrow front window that can be repaired with glass putty/sealer.

It also has new insulation in the walls...

I will have to do some crafty cosmetic work to cover up the "uglies" but there is very minimal water damage, I did find some light staining in 3 spots, but the wood was not damaged by it....That's what water seal & paint are for.

So,,,I am thinking this will be my "Farm Girl" trailer, using the "Whistle Stop Cafe'...Fried Green Tomatos" as my country theme...I think cheery red/yellow/green & blues will be the perfect color tones.

I will paint the walls a cheery yellow & use the other 3 colors as accent...Thank goodness I collect vintage linens, doillies & aprons....cuz I am going to need them for this "Country Farm Girl Cutie".

Well, now I am off to go play in my new play house......come join me, I will put on a pot of tea and slice up a piece of Apple Pie for us.

Look what I received in yesterdays mail.... is this not the cutest?

Pink & black plaid fabric with cute lil Scotty dogs on it..I can hardly wait to create & sew something from it....my first thought was an apron, but I have plenty of aprons (over a 100) so I am leaning toward a cute decorator pillow or? thinking thinking.....

I don't know if the pot holder is vintage but it is made of a terry cloth fabric and the opposite side is white with a red Scotty dog.

Then there is the Scotty dog cookie cutter...my hubby is hoping to score some cute Scotty dog shaped cookies.... hmm, maybe I will need to make an apron after all to wear while baking cookies! lol!

So I keep nudging hubby about my wanting to have a couple of 'hay eatin', hoof stompin', pasture grazin' equines on our property soon, real soon....so here is what he brought me...haha! close but not quite! LOL!....
This is a radio antennae and now is on my Jeep. Cool!

I look forward to the the day I can pull a horse trailer behind my mini motor home and head out to great camping and out back trail riding....ah, Happy Trails....

You can't miss it, when you see the "Welcome to Moscow" sign, it's just across the road.

Yep, I am camping, I mean, Glamping at the 'Pony Club', part of the ranch, owned by legendary George Hatley.

This camping trip was for the Appaloosa Horse Museum fund raiser. 13 years and going strong!

Here is Juli Thorson's (Sister #444) cowgirl trailer and my little Scotty.

We had perfect Idaho weather not to mention a fantastic Dutch Oven cook-off.

Just 'chillin' by my trailer after packing it up and getting ready to head back to Spokane, Washington.

George, at 89 years young may not be able to ride anymore, but his heart and love for horses and trail rides is still strong.

He has authored several books on Trail Riding and Back Packing on horse back.
Of his 2000 acre ranch he has set aside acreage for the use of Equestrian Clubs to use for events, shows and trail rides.

What a wonderful weekend, from the Fiddlers fiddling for us, the singers serenading us with old and new country & western songs, a fantastic assortment of Dutch Oven meals...

Dutch Ovens are to cowboys & girls what crock pots are to potluck dinners! lol!

Here is a little bit of Appaloosa info for you....the appaloosa horse was developed by the

Nez Perce & Palouse Indians, thus the "appaloosa" name. These wonderful horses were adapt

to the prairies of the Palouse...

After I took this picture, I noticed that all the trailers, doors open left to right,,,but mine opens right to left....

Evening setting upon us and our little trailers like to "lite-up".

Even tho this was a "Girls Camp weekend", we allowed Juli's husband to come visit us,,,after all, he was our "Designated BBQ Chef"!

It was nice to have our very own Private Chef...Thanx Ed for being such a good sport!

All in all we had a wonderful but all to short 3 days of Glamping, eating & laughing!

It was a fun get away and even more so as we got to help Juli celebrate her "29" wink wink, birthday.

Thrift shop finds.... the bowl is Mid-century & I got it for $1.29 and the little blue tray was a cheesy gold metal tissue box holder which I got for 99cents then I spray painted it blue.

So what do you do with all those 99cent silver trays that you find at the local thrift shops? why you paint them! I use them all the time & don't worry if they get scratched.

Paint them to match your trailer, or party theme.

I love this belt buckle, I won at an auction...now to find the perfect belt for it.

It's only been about 4 weeks since I last camped with 70 'Sisters on the Fly' gals over in Wenatchee, Washington....

Boots, Chaps & Cowgirl Hats....it was a lot of fun.

But the Summer fun isn't over yet,,,I leave Friday for the Elk River (Idaho) with 6 other 'Sisters' for a weekend Glamping getaway & to help one of the Sister's celebrate her birthday.

Then the following weekend I will be camping down in the Moscow Idaho area for the 'Appaloosa Museum' (a fund raiser)...4 days of camping around horses and wonderful horse people not to mention Dutch Oven cooking and a Silent Auction.

I will have my camera, cowgirl boots & hat and sporting a ginormous smile on my face.

I'll be sure to take lots of pictures to share.
