Well. I will be heading out with my 'Sisters on the Fly' gal~pals bright and early Wednesday morning... and to where you ask? heehee! Why to Parkfield, Calif.... just east of Paso Robles, Calif.
This is the 2nd Annual 'Rootin' Tootin', High Falutin', SOTF ...South West Gathering!
Whoot Whoot! I can hardly wait to head out!
In the mean time I am (last minute) getting myself and my trailer together for the trip.
I decided,,, again, at the last minute,,, to make a new 'Train Case',,, one to sort of match my trailer...
I used 'gift wrap paper... for the base.
I dug through my stash of stuff and this is what I came up with.
I luv the little black faux key....
So now I am almost all ready to hit the road!
Happy Trails...

OMGeepers! just 13 more days until I head out on my 1st camping trip of the year (2014)... so excited...
I am in search of this "Trixie Belden" book, "The Red Trailer Mystery"... there are several updated issues, but I want this particular cover to display in the "Tin Cup" Silver Streak trailer...
Who knows,,, maybe someday I'll add a 'RED" trailer to my collection! :>)

Ready to GO!
I am soooo ready to hit the road....
for my 'high octane' cocktail drinking gal~pals....
and for my wine loving friends....
I spray painted my votive candle holder to match my exterior trailer color... and it will sit out in front of my trailer hitch so no one smacks their shin when walking around my trailer.
I painted my 'drink glass holder too!
My sweet "Banner" that was made for my by a fellowette 'Sister on the Fly'... but the bottom half said 'Spokane, Washington'... and since I no longer live in Washington I decided to remove that part and cutsie it up with lace trim.

Wahoo! Almost Done!
Got a few more little things to do... but my facelift on the Scotty is nearly done... I think I will now call her, my "Le Petite Suite"
Getting ready to attach the 'faux' back splash... I found these koolieo plastic place matts at the dollar store! perfect!
I removed the original table and put in a portable folding table which is smaller, taking up less space.
I found all kinds of cute fabric... the front window curtains were made from a fitted bed sheet! The side window curtains are from some cloth dinner napkins that I found at a Thrift shop.
I 'blinged-up' my Scotty picture....
The printed burlap pillow I made by sewing it right sides out and fringing the edge...
I luv my sweet re-designed cowgirl hat into a elegant frufru hat!
I luv this motto, "In a world where you can be anything... Be Yourself!"...
A special place for my cute itty bitty Scotties... and my Troll mascots!
My re-cycled tray, deserves a sweet silver tea pot and cake tote...
I made the bed ruffle from the bottom half of a summer sun dress... perfect re-cycle!
and thou you can't see it real well... the little rug is a rag rug that I crocheted.
Oh, and yes, now the back splash is done! Yippeeee!
I am soooo ready to get going and start Glamping !

New Hat...
With all that I am doing,,, a new make-over for my lil Scotty... I realized she needed a hat update too!
Here is an easy peasy project... take an old worn or not so favorite cowgirl hat, buy 2yards of any sweet drapey sheer type fabric, lightly wrap around your hat and with a bit of tacky glue or a glue gun apply a few drops of glue in a few inconspicuous spots of the hat to keep the fabric in place. then create a 'puff' (think semi pony tail) tie in position and add a few drops of glue to secure. then just glue on any kind of trim,,, flowers, beads old jewelry,,, what ever... and Voila! you have a sweet hat befitting any fashionista cowgirl!
It's such a girlie~girl hat and I love it.

A Book about Serro Scotty Trailers....
I need this book!
"This book will take us on John Serro's journey from producing the first 16' Scotty Pup trailer in 1956 to the more popular 18' HiLander produced in the 60's and 70's. Because Scotty Trailers were not produced on an assembly line, just like the Americans who bought them, no two are exactly alike. The Scotty line, while fairly extensive (ranging from teardrops to fully self-contained 18' models), each were simple in design, most sporting the iconic aqua and white paint scheme, and all stamped with the Scotty Pup logo. Vintage travel trailers have never been more popular with the demographic evolving drastically to a younger, more affluent group of people. And while Airstreams seem to be the shiny star of the day, the Serro Scotty trailers were always right there barking up the same vintage tree. Not only are Scotty Trailers quintessentially retro, they are lightweight, very affordable and easy to restore, and accessible to everyone!"
and this is just one of the many reasons I luv my lil Scotty...

Deco Pillows
Well here I sit, still waiting for the Hobby Lobby delivery and for the rain to stop...
In the mean time, I thought I would share with you some of the cute deco pillows that I made for my trailer...
This is such an easy peasy deco pillow to stitch up...with printed burlap, I stitched 3 sides of the outside, stuffed the pillow in and then stitched up the last side... the hardest part of this undertaking was... deciding which Brooch to pin on...
the 'flower' was aremnant piece from a tattered doily.
a simple cloth flower with an orphaned button for the center.
a Fleure d'les brooch and I had some chunky 'baubles' that I stitched at each of the corners of this pillow.
sweet, and certainly different.
I love finding unwanted silver items... like this casserole dish holder and this aluminum cake tin cover... and yep, in true Grace fashion, I spray painted them and now I have a glamorous casserole dish holder and cover complete with faux crystal knob... as for the 'dots' I struck on those little colored sticky circles like you use at garage sales,,, spray painted the top and then removed the sticky circles... Voila' instant silver polka dotted cover.
and now after all that hard work, I think I deserve a nice glass of wine!
and yes I know the hat brim has kitty hair on it... what can I say,,, 'cept... I share my trailer with 2 prissy kitties!
After all, it's like they say,,, "a (trailer)Home isn't a home unless it has kitty hair in it"...

The Rain is Slowing Me Down..
I know we need the rain,, and am glad to see it... but,,, it is putting a 'damper' on my "getter done" mode! lol!
Plus that I am eagerly waiting for my Hobby Lobby shipment, so I can finish up the 'trim' deco stuff in my trailer... But while I am waiting, I want to tell you about a wonderful Scone mix which is perfect to take and bake while Glamping... unless you don't have an oven in your trailer...
Sticky Fingers Scone Mix... OMGeepers! they are beyond yummy and oh so easy to whip up.
There are a lot of wonderful flavors and even Gluten Free for those of you who can not tolerate gluten products.
Simply add water, mix and bake... so very easy peasy....
My personal favorite is the Lemon Poppy Seed mix... makes even the dreariest Spokane days sunny! Which by the way is where 'Sticky Fingers' is located.
I baked up a batch last night,, to combat the rainy day blues... Perfect, sunshine in each bite!
You can buy Sticky Finger products on line at their web site, or Amazon or at your local 'World Market-Cost Plus' store... (my personal favorite)...
Well, I think it's time to put on a pot of tea and delve into the Scones,, care to join me?

Sneak Peek...
Here is a sneak peek of my sweet Scotty... almost done.... just got to do the little finishing touches.. but am waiting on an order from Hobby Lobby so I can finish... then I'll post better photos.
need to sew 2 more deco pillows,..
I 'stole' the little wire 'figure frames' from my guest bathroom,,, lol!
waiting on the pearls and bling to finish the cabinets...
I re-purposed a sheet (Center) and table napkins (side) for curtains... the lace table cloth was actually a lace curtain.
I had DH screw the white framed platter onto the wall... now I can use my blingy magnets to hold photos and notes....
Need to hit Joann's Fabric store to buy a round foam cushion for my sweet chair... I have the Toile oil cloth,, just need the foam...
Soon my sweet playhouse on wheels will be ready for her debut in her new outfit!

Road Trip for the Traveling Handbag...
Well my Traveling Handbag and I took another trip... this time back to Spokane, WA. to visit my beautiful daughter and 3 cute as bugs grandkiddos!
I had a wonderful time and the 7 days flew by way to fast...
My American West handbag loves to travel and can you blame it...
In flight from Seattle to Spokane... (Wash. State Cougs logo on the plane wing...)
The grandkids insisted on carrying "Oma's" handbag...
My A.W. bag got to visit the 'Maryjane Farm' store in Coeure d'Alene in Idaho.
Oh so many pretty things to see....
It was especially fond of this re purposed vtg. iron board made to hang things off... yep, sweet old door pulls were added as 'hooks'...
Then my A.W. bag and I just 'moosed' around with 3 wonderful friends, junktiquing and being foodies...
The journey home,,, via Alaska/Horizon Airlines... and yep, enjoying a bit of lovely Washington state Chardonnay wine... :>)
And as always... what trip would be complete with out a lunch stop at In-and-Out Burger... Yum!
Well until our next adventurers... Happy Trails ....

My Traveling Handbag...
Well my American West handbag has been having fun...
She traveled to Palm Springs/Palm Desert...sorry, I forgot to get some photos... but I did get a photo of the Turbines... they remind me of giant daises on a hillside...
I stopped off in Ft. Tejon... off Hwy5 just past the Grapevine....
In our little community,,, this wooden statue is along the roadside... so... well I decided to be a typical tourist in my own community...
From our community, Coarsegold, and Oakhurst on Hwy 41 you follow it up to Yosemite or you can hope onto Hwy 49 and head up to Sonora... the old Gold route... lots of history around us.
Our community was established in 1852,,, by loggers and gold seekers....
I am enjoying being a mountain girl...
Happy Trails.
