SOTF and Farm Chicks...June 2010

Path Finder....to Farm Chicks as well as other "paths"....lol! (you can click on the picture to get a better 'read'.)

Hey, even when camping, we like to start our mornings off with coffee & reading the newspaper.

This is a little tin that I decorated with a picture and some re-purposed bling.

The rain may have put a 'damper' on our decorating but it didn't put a 'damper' on my love for sitting and watching the river rush by.

Here are a few of the trailers...unfortunately I didn't get around to taking pictures of all of the trailers. Tammy's "Miss Montana" is parked in front of my Scotty.

We had a great time in spite of the rain and when the rain stopped we came out to play.

There where a total of 20 trailers.
The Spokesman Review Newspaper sent out a reporter & photographer & we made the newspaper.

My lil "Scotty with a Potty"....Normally we decorate the outside of our trailers, but with the winds and rains we couldn't.

The food was awesome, these gals can put on quit a spread!

Pot Luck Nite....food & friends...what a great combination.

This is the Scotty & Dot's that I painted on my trailer.

I stitched up this trailer banner. It has this western motif on one side and on the other side is my Sister on the Fly number.

Inside Kari's trailer...it is a Corvette and is cute as a bug decked out in blues & pinks..

Inside Heather's trailer. She has a red toile and chickens motif. I luv her red radio and her use of embroidered cloth napkins as a window valance.

Heather earning her "Lemon Drop Martini" badge. Yummm! they were delish!

Kari found this cool picnic/camping box for a Model-A car.

Sisters 1156, 1281, 444, 696...yes we have names too! lol! and as you can see, we eat very healthy! lol!

This is Gepetto, he may look like a wee little bear but...

he really is a cute little dog and his "mom" Juli brought him camping with us.

He was such a character & was more than eager to score a treat.

Heather made this cute sign to display her sister number....the really cool part is, it Velcro's on & off. How cool is that!

This is my Apron Tree. I set up my mini aprons at every 'Sisters on the Fly' event that I attend.

I had fun embroidering this towel for my co-hort in crime, Heather. Her trailer is called,

"4 Chicks only"...

I found this fun magnetic sign and could not resist putting it on the door where my little 'potty' is stored(hidden).

It's so delightful to snuggle up and read in my lil trailer...

My little Banquette in my Scotty...ok, so I admit it, I rarely eat here.

There were 20 trailers, and 28 ladies "Glamping" this past weekend at the "Bowl & Pitcher" on the Spokane River....and what fun we had.

It is amazing what we can accomplish in 4 days in spite of the rain!

We hit the antique shops, Thrift shops, a few yard sales in between the rains.

We wined & dined on yummy foods.

Then Saturday we all converged on the Fairgrounds to shop the "Farm Chicks~ vintage & antique show.

I scored another vintage mixer....Wohoo!

I have to admit....it was really crowded...I ran into lot's friends as well as met ladies who had come from Montana and Arizona just to shop this popular event.

The local newspaper did an article on us which was fun to read.

Now I have 18 day s to get ready for my next glamping trip with the "sisters"...

What a super duper weekend with a wonderful group of Super Duper gal pals.

Scotty Tea Set

Look what my daughter found for me at Target today! OMG! Is this cute or what! It will look so cute in my 1963 Serro Scotty trailer....
hmmm, I am thinking I need another vintage trailer to transfer my shabby/retro/ pink & blue deco to and then re-do the Scotty in black/red/white & maybe a splash of yellow just for kicks! lol!
Hmmm, guess I had better start baking some cookies in hopes to bribe my hubby into going along with my hair-brained idea! lol!

Lots of Pillows

I love using pillows as a source of decorating...Cute, Colorful and Light Weight. The cowgirl pillow is from scraps left from an apron project and an old sheet. I found cute silver metal cowgirl hat, and cowgirl boot buttons to embellish the pillow.
The large pillow, white with pink roses is a pillow sham that I found at the Thrift and for only 99cents.
The Pink and brown pillow is a sweet pillow that I won in a blog giveaway by "Dark Horse Farm Designs." www.darkhorsefarmdesigns.com
The pillow case, (pink & black) I stitched up from fabric that a sweet friend form the MaryJane Farm forum sent me as a gift.
Hmmm, I am thinking I just might have to go down to my sewing room, dig through my scraps and stitch up another pillow... after all, I have a little room left on the bed for another pillow or two! lol!

More Scotty Decorating Fun

Little by little things are getting done on the Scotty..yaya, I know...we still need to work on the Aljo...but I have a trip in a few days so I need to get things done on the Scotty. Today's project was to paint the wheels. Now Hubby is on the internet searching for 10" Baby Moons to cover the wheels. But for now the centers will be blue & black.

Hubby had to fight a bit to get the tires off and on...but he did & he didn't even use any "experaltives deleatives" ! lolo!

I found this lil shelf for 99cents at the Goodwill store, bought it, brought it home, painted it, added (glued) lace to the front, glued on the flower & ladybug and hubby attached it to the wall for me to display my lil purfume bottles & what nots.

As for this silly tin sign, I found it at T.J. Maxx for $4.99...perfect to stick my magnets on.

It is on the closet door where my Scotty Potty hidden.

Ok, I still have some more projects to finish up and just 11 days before the next Glamping.

Dots, Dots & More Dots...

Do you feel like you are seeing spots?...
Nope, those are just Dots! Lots of dots.... Ok, you just can't leave me along with a can of paint...I have a tendancy to get a little silly...

But like daddy always said,,, "If it moves...Salute it. If it don't ,,, paint it!

Hubby sanded and re-painted the hitch. for me..what a difference!

Sisters on the Fly Book...

Ok, I can hardly contain myself for the release of Irene Rawlings book about Sisters in the Fly.
I bugged her relentlessly to let me have a couple of pictures from her book to post on my blog.

She actually sent me a bunch of pictures...but then I thought if I post them all that would take away from the surprise & glee you'd get from actually seeing & reading the book.

Denise, myself & a handful of other gals all went camping down in Prosser, WA. recently,,, well, camping, junktiquing, eating & dancing that is...lol!

To bad we don't know how to have fun! lolol!

A hand full of us, Prosser Farm Gals, Sisters on the Fly and Spokane Past Blessings gal pals converged on the Yakima river at Karen Benton's property for a 3 day camping, shopping and Barn Dance weekend. What fun we all had.....
Here are a few of the trailers. We normally would decorate our spots outside our trailers but the winds were blowing to strong so we had to settle for just making our sweet trailers cute on the inside.

This is just part of Rene's cute Aladdin trailer all dolled up in a Roy & Dale Rogers theme.

Heather's trailer, "4CHIX Only", a 1947 Silver lark. We met up in the Starbucks parking lot in Cheney WA. to caravan to Prosser.

And of course, my lil Scotty aka 'The Gnome Home'... I listened to non stop Dean Martin music on the trip to Prosser....and am still singing Dino tunes! lol!

WoHoo! Work has started Up!

Yep, you see right...No floor!
Hubby decided that the old sub floor needed to go.... Now to seal the underside of the wood before screwing it down.

On the plus side, the trailer will not have any funky smells or odors with all the new wood.

And it is comforting to know that the floor won't gave way under my feet.

Hubby loves his power tools! And so do I...cuz it makes his job so much more easy!

Next we need to lay down the vinyl floor and then onto the birch wood walls, wiring, cabinets, insulation and then button her up!

Last will be the tires, new paint & then hook her up and go Glamping!

My little 1963 Serro Scotty will look as cute as this picture. Artist Paige Bridges of Texas is a fellow Sister on the Fly~sister and a fantastic artist of vintage trailer and other works.

She has designed cards with vintage trailers on them for our Sisters on the Fly group as well as as done some special art work for SOTF.

If you ever get a chance check her work out...she has the cutest art work.

I am partial to this Scotty picture cuz I have the same sweet little Scotty...if only I had a blue 1957 Chevy BelAir to pull it...I do have a 1954 BelAir,,,,but she is just a little to geriatric to pull anything!

Trailer Daze....

Ok, so today the hubs & I went out to the ManCave to check in on the trailers....
Yep, the Aljo is still naked as a jay bird! lol! But Hubby was able to do a wee bit of work on it.
If the weather is halfway decent tomorrow we just might get to start nailing on the cross braces. So keep your fingers crossed for us.
yep, as you can see, we can see right thru the Aljo to where the BelAir is parked....

Ok, bottoms up! lol!

Hubby is checking out the underside of the trailer....if all goes well maybe, just maybe we will get to start the repairs on the floor and then move onto the walls....

So glad hubby took a gazillon photos of the Aljo as he disassembled her. The photos will come in handy when we start to put her back together.

My Idea of Glamping...then....

Ok, so 6 years ago this was as close to "Camping~Glamping" as I was willing get.
My daughter & I enjoyed staying at nice Hotels for our little 'Mother~Daughter' getaways.
This was at a lovely Hotel in Pasadena, California.....We would bring our scrap booking supplies, our shopping shoes and our credit cards.....that was then....

Now I enjoy wearing worn out jeans, cowgirl boots and Glamping in my vintage trailer....
In fact my first trip of 2010 will be the end of April down in Prosser, WA....
Then come June I have 2 Glamping trips awaiting me & my gal~pals.... 1 in July and 1 in August....those are the planned ones,,hopefully I will be able to sneak a few more in before having to tuck my trailer away for Winter.

Speaking of trailers,,,,,'Gracie's Victorian Rose' is still naked as a Jay Bird....it has been just to cold to work on her...but Hubby Dearest says the first warm weekend of Spring we will throw open the doors to the ManCave and start working on the Aljo again. Wahoo!
So for now I will Glamp in my lil Scotty w/a Potty who I now call the "Gnome Home"....
It's fun having different decorated trailers for my 'many' different personalities! lol!
