Scotty Lamp

Oh lookie lookie what is going into my Serro Scotty Trailer...

 I received this from another vintage trailer gal~pal,,,, it was cute but needed a wee bit of cutsieness...

 a little reconfiguring,,, some black paint and a frosted shade and ...

Voila'  Cute trailer lamp..  Whoot Whoot!  I can hardly wait to put it to good use in my trailer come Spring....

End of the Season...

Well Glamping season is over,,, for me at this time...
After I returned home from San Simeon,, I cleaned out and packer stuff away and I pulled out everything that needed to be laundered...
Kind of sad,,, but Spring will be here in no time...
In the mean time... time to relax...

Then yesterday, we took our lil Ginger over to the Village for the annual Tarantula Fest...

Yes,,, we have turned into "those' people,,, the ones who turn their pets into babies... lol!

Not sure if Ginger is thrilled with her Batgirl outfit.. but oh well... such is the life of a spoiled pup!

 

Last Glamping Trip for 2016

Well,, My gal pals and I squeezed in one last Glamping trip for the year... over to the Coast,,,
 San Simeon, CA.

 because of the winds we couldn't do much decorating outside...

 this is the Senator's House,,, on the Hearst Ranch,,, and yes,,, I snuck up to the porch to have my photo taken, and yes that is a sun bleached cow bone I am holding!! lol!

Whiplash and a Boot Purse....

 I almost got whiplash when I spotted this sweet trailer in the little mountain community of Yarnell, AZ...

and I scored this cool repurposed Tony Lama boot/purse at the Thrift...
Years ago I actually made a purse from an boot shaft of an old pair of boots.. but I added beads instead of leather fringe... I had sold it so I was supper tickled pink to score this one for only $3.00 Whoot Whoot!

Potty Seat ...

hmmm, decisions, decisions... 
buy a new portapotty at Wal-mart for $64...

 or...

make one for under $10...
Decisions, decisions...

 either one will fit in the closet of my Serro Scotty trailer...heeheehee......

Goodies for Scotty...

With all the work around our home and property I haven't had much time to play out in my trailer... Hopefully after the new windows are installed in the house I will have some down time before the next 2 camping trips (most likely the last 2 of the season for me)...

I really need to get into the 'Scotty' and tidy up and re-stock.
But I did manage to find a few trinkets for 'Scotty' while at the newly opened Hobby Lobby down in Fresno... look what I found...

Vespa riding touristy Flamingo ornament was $9.97 less 40% off!  SCORE!

I could have bought a ton more stuff but the hubby dearest was with me so I showed restraint and limited my crazy purchasing... well at least until next time when hubby dearest is not with me,,, heeheehee!

Virtual Glamping...

Well normally I would be back in Spokane, WA., at this time of year,,, to visit my grandkiddos as well as get a little Girl Camping in.
But since I won't be there in Elk, ID., this July, I will just have to 'wing it'...
But I am getting ready to Virtual Camp this weekend with them...

UFO Deco Pillow...

I started this cute lil cross stitch Scotty  project well over 3 years ago,,, and today I finally decided what to do with it... yep, I made it into a sweet pillow for my Serro Scotty.

The pattern is from a vintage 'Aunt Lynda's" cross stitch project sheet.
You iron the blue transfer image onto your fabric and then stitch away...
I didn't iron the image on, I traced it onto my fabric with a chalk pencil so I could preserve the transfer pattern.

Speaking of my lil Serro Scotty trailer,,, I think I need to go tidy it up,,, launder the linens and wash the dishes...

I have not been able to do any Glamping because of life getting in the way of life.  lol!

Trailer Planes....1961

I was rummaging through some old books,,, when I came across a 1961 copy of a  "Mechanix Illustrated" book,, and sure as all get out,,, look what I found in it...
Instructions to build your own little travel trailer....

 from the cover, the book looks like the early 1960's... but...

 from the photo on this page,,, I am guessing that this might have been a re-vised edition from a 1950's book...

look how detailed the instructions are...

this one was 'gifted' to me by a lovely friend,, Thank you dear friend... I Luv it!

Glamping MaryJane Style.

I am a Glamping Farm girl at heart and sometimes saddle....
I love when I can get out and glamp,,, or just hang out in my trailer with a favorite magazine and a kitty or two...
I have pared down my magazine subscriptions to 2 magazine... one of which is the 'Maryjane Farm' magazine, which I have been enjoying over the years.

Now let me share with you a page from the 2016 June/July issue...

 OMG! Flamingos! ..  In the paragraph about the egg,,, Maryjane mentioned that the egg would make a perfect gift for one of her Glamping girlfriends...  yes,,, I was green or should I say pink with envy.
Now fast forward,,, I went to my P.O. Box to pick up the weeks worth of mail,,, when I found a package... hmmm, I hadn't ordered anything lately,,, then I spied the return address...
My Stars! it was from Maryjane... and guess what it was??? come on guess... give up?
Yepadoodle,,, the very same adorable deco glass egg!
Now it sits ever so lovely in my Scotty trailer (don't worry, it will be safely packed away when I am towing my trailer).

 It goes perfect with my glittered flamingo and mini salt -n- pepper shakers...

 I think I need some 'trailer shaped confetti' to sprinkle around this tray...

Oh and look what I found at the 'Dollar Tree" last week... yepadoodle, " mingo stir stix"...
To say I am 'tickled pink' is an understatement...
I love the whimsicalness of flamingos and truth be known,, my legs pretty much look like those of Flamingos too! lol!
I am so blessed to have such wonderful friends who think of me and surprise me with wonderful friendship gifts.

Haven't Disappeared,,, Yet!

Hey my Glamping friends,,, I have not fallen off the face of the earth... just up to my eyeballs in 'Stuff'...lol!
The last time I posted was in early March and now here it is nearly the end of May... where does the time go?
Well for me, I opened a small shop up in the 'Village' of Coarsegold, CA., to keep me busy and out of Antique and Thrift shops,,, so far my lil  shop has not slowed me down from juinktiquing,,, it has however curtailed my glamping trips...  Not good! lol!

I decided to take a trip to visit my mother down in Palm Desert and then she and I flew back to Spokane to see the (her great) grand~kiddos.

In between opening my shop and mini trips I haven't been able to Glamp, but I have been spending time out in my trailer, just relaxing and day dreaming about hitting the road again with my lil trailer.

Hubby and I did a reality check and decided to (and did) sell the Silver Streak and the Shasta,,, leaving us with my Serro Scotty and the lil Viking.
In all honesty we knew it would be a very long time before we could tackle the task of re-habing the Silver Streak and Shasta,,, so we let them go to new homes and owners who wanted them and had the time for them.
Actually now that we are down to 2 trailers it is really quit freeing... so it is a Good Thing.

I have been shopping for new~old glamping stuff...when do I not? lol!
I peruse the various vintage trailer sites on 'facebook' as well as 'pintrest' for ideas...
I still attend lunch/dinner get to-gathers with the local 'Sisters on the Fly' sisters up here and am collecting (more) stuff for my SOTF camping trip in late summer at the Hearst Ranch in Central California.

And,,, OMG! I am actually thinking of re-doing my Scotty again... that is the fun thing about our trailers,,, like Barbie dolls, we can change their 'outfits' as often as we want... lol!

Well,,, time to go on 'pintrest' and see what cute trailer deco ideas are there...after all,,, summer is just around the corner and so is Glamping season...
